AmericanTowns.com
I found a great new resource for finding anything in your area. AmericanTowns.com lists local restaurants, events, businesses, community headlines, real estate, and organizations. Find it all in one place. AmericanTowns.com is also reference for any out of town guests planning a trip to our Charleston wedding. It's easy to use and even gives some reviews of restaurants. They've been searching for local bloggers and I hope to be featured! Keep your fingers crossed!

Costa Rica here we come!

We live near the beach already but where can you visit a hot spring in South Carolina?? Thankfully we won't be looking for hot springs here we are going to Costa Rica! Now to decide what the heck to do there, where to stay, how long, how much?! Since Kevin and I are fugal, my best resource is the local library. I going going to spend my lunch picking up some books and then we can plan the honeymoon over the weekend. I still think we should take the honeymoon before the wedding and break up some the excitement!

We Survived Registering! Yea!

Valentine's weekend was wedding productive as promised! The MAJOR accomplishment was registering. We went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond on Sunday around 11:30, 3 hours later we were done. Who would've thought it takes so long?! I didn't. We even made trips a few weeks ago to decide on some of the big items. So, what was the best part about registering?? THE FREE GIFTS. BB&B has all kinds of programs in place to receive free gifts by registering for certain items. We will receive a few things in 6-8 weeks just for selecting the right stuff. I believe the program is fairly new so if you haven't registered yet, ASK. They've also added other new bridal tools. Check it out, http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com and have some fun!

DIY Pinwheels

I saw pinwheels when I first started wedding planning but I just couldn't figure out what to do with them. Now, we've finally figured out how to incorporate them (well almost). I think these will help give us a more casual feel at the ceremony and also really help incorporate the "beach theme" (see the seashell in the middle) into everything! Take a look at what we came up with in the photo. The directions I used are located here. Check out the link and have some fun!

I almost forgot....COLORS!

My color scheme was inspired by a bridesmaid dress I found online. I found a great dress for under $100 at Nordstrom, but I only saw it in black. Trust me I love black dresses but I would like a punch of color in my wedding. I called up Jess, one of my bridesmaids, and asked her what she thought of the black dress. She loved it so we looked for additional colors. She said, "Tiff, it comes in pink." If you know anything about me, you know I LOVE pink. The colors for my wedding instantly changed to pink, pink, black, and more pink! Thanks Jess! Sorry, all out of pink online. Take a look at the black dress.
An interesting concept...
Like I said earlier, I had lots of trouble keeping florists within a budget. I also couldn't make up my mind when it came to centerpieces. So, thanks to my brilliant mother, yes mom brilliant, we are going to use cakes as centerpieces! I can't give too many details away but I can tell you they are going to be delicious! Everyone you ask in Charleston has one baker they all recommend, Ashley Bakery. I am so delighted that we are able to use them for our wedding. And don't worry, there will be a cake cutting. How could I miss the opportunity to smash cake in Kevin's face!
